The Story of the Jewish Defense League |
bforces and hears the names of valiant soldiers and mighty
bmissiles and aircraft and tanks and Jewish prowess. And
bone’s heart swells with pride and joy, but finally, after wait-
bing and waiting and waiting, one turns to the rulers of the
bState of the Jews and asks: ‘But where is G-d?’
b“There is no room for G-d because the socialists and
bpioneers who came to the Land and created the state did
bnot—and do not—believe in the Jewish G-d, and, at best, pay
blip service to some Being whose existence is so irrelevant
bthat it plays not the slightest role in the planning of policy of the
bfuture. The people who rule Israel are ideological men
bwhose roots are in a non-Jewish socialism, a non-Jewish
bnationalism, a non-Jewish atheism, or, at best, benign ne-
bglect of Him, and whose philosophy of divine irrelevance is
bstamped on the culture and life of the state.

band special Jewish role and destiny—all these are buried
bunder a Western curriculum and Western secular values.
bThe student emerges with values that are not Jewish, but
buniversal—and universally frightening.
b“His destiny? The concept of destiny for the product of
bthe schools of the State of the Jews? A car, a big car; girls, or
bboys; money, a great deal of it; America, and everything Ameri-
bcan! His ignorance of his Judaism and of his heritage is
bshocking, his indifference to the special Jewish destiny of
bholiness, separateness, and chosenness is appalling. Movies,
bgood times, pretty girls, status—these are the gods of the
bState of the Jews.
b“The newspapers become increasingly filled with news of
bdaily crimes of violence: murder, brutal rape, sadistic as-
bsault, robbery. The movie houses have long lines gathering
boutside to see the same filth that pollutes every other mod-
