The “merciful” bArabs agreed: they ripped open her belly before the eyes of her btiny sister, who hid under a bed. . . .

1936-38

bOn the night of April 15, 1936, armed Arabs stopped sever- bal automobiles on the main road between Tulkarm and bShechem. They killed two Jews and injured two. It was the be- bginning of more than two years of terror, destruction, and bmurder of Jews. Four days later, Jaffa exploded in pogroms, bwith nine Jews murdered and fifty-seven injured the first day, band the Jewish neighborhoods bordering Tel Aviv set ablaze and blooted. Five more Jews were slaughtered the next day: Yehuda bSiman-Tov, Zelig Levinson, Shlomo Morrison, and two bbrothers, Tuvya and Yosef Prusak.
